The Wine:
Mataro, also known as Mourvedre and Monastrell is a drought tolerant Spanish variety that thrives in the McLaren Vale climate.
Grown by the Perkins family on the border of Sellick's Hill and Willunga. A whole berry ferment results in a deep ruby colour and a complex aroma featuring notes of dark fruits with earthy undertones. Full bodied and rich on the palate, with flavours of black cherry, plum and dried herbs. A complex but subtle spice finnish.
